Roma Plastik is a young and dynamic company which was founded at the end of 1996 by two young entrepreneurs. The company started its operations with PVC edgeband manufacturing in a small atelier in Istanbul. Owing to its customer-oriented sales policies and high quality products, the company became the largest supplier of edgebands in Turkey within two years.
In 1999, the partners have decided to take the operation to a global scale. In order to achieve this goal, 7,5 million Euro of venture capital was
acquired and the expansion plan was initiated immediately. This investment
included a brand-new 12,500 mt˛ plant in Gebze, new extrusion lines and a new
impregnation line for the production of melamine edgebands. The project was carried out rapidly and the new facility started operations
in January 2000.
The company also implemented SAP software, the leading MIS system in the
world, in order to provide better service for the fast growing local and
overseas markets. The goal of Roma is to focus totally on the needs of the customer and operate
with a service-oriented approach rather than the classic production company
approach. This professional attitude towards business was awarded with the
quality certificate ISO9001 by BVQI in September 2000.
In 2005, following the ever increasing customer demand and world-wide sales, the second phase of the expansion plan was initiated. A new warehouse facility with docking stations for the easy-loading of the trucks and a new two storey building for the new extrusion lines were built.
